The pilot project is based on the application of a completely new method of electricity production using a geothermal gravity heat pipe (Slovenian patent SI 23618 A).

The special feature of the geothermal gravity heat pipe is in a closed coolant circuit, which requires only one dry well for operation. The existing but abandoned Pg-8 well in the village of Čentiba in Lendava will be used.

The projected pilot geothermal power plant with a 50 kWe capacity will be able to provide 400 MWhe for the production of electricity per year.

Project duration: 1.5.2022 – 30.4.2024
